9 tips on how to clean your house fast
Housekeeping

Probably with spring approaching, you are thinking about cleaning. It often seems like there are a lot of time-consuming things to do and clean up, but you can do most of them quickly and efficiently, without spending much of your time, but still gaining considerable results.

  1. Take out the trash

For a good start, grab a trash bag and walk around your house throwing away anything that is unnecessarily taking up space, i.e. empty packaging and unused or unwanted products. This will make it easier for you to wipe off the dust and continue cleaning. Pick up all your trash, and then take the full bags to the trash can so they don’t linger unnecessarily in your home, and don’t forget to separate them properly. It’s a good idea to keep the bags by the trash can so you can change them quickly.

  1. Change your bedding

A simple act can transform a bedroom in a huge way. Nothing stings more than scattered pillows and crumpled sheets. If you can, shake out any blankets that might have dust and crumbs on them. Take the sheets and covers off your pillows and comforters and throw them in the washing machine, even if you’re not going to do the laundry at the moment, a change of bedding will bring a breath of fresh air and make it instantly nice and clean. This is not only convenient but also hygienic, as procrastinating on changing your bedding for clean ones contributes to the ideal environment for bacteria and fungi to grow. It’s a good idea to have several sets of bedding on hand so that you can change them regularly while others are in the laundry basket or in the washing machine.

  1. Pick up dirty clothes

Often, clothes that are no longer fresh linger on our floors, chairs or under the bed and can fill rooms with an unpleasant smell, like unwashed socks. Pick up anything that can’t be put on and throw it in the laundry basket or directly into the washing machine.

  1. Store clean clothes

If you’re already taking care of your clothes, find some time to arrange and store the ones that are clean in the closet. Of course, don’t throw them carelessly into the closets and try to arrange them neatly. An organized closet will help you avoid unnecessary clutter in the future when you need to quickly find your favorite sweatshirt, sweater or pants.

  1. Put all your stuff where it belongs

Once you’ve taken care of the biggest items, it’s time to take care of the smaller ones. Over time, we tend to leave individual items behind and forget about them for days. Take a few minutes to arrange ornaments, decorations, jewelry, cosmetics, medications, cups, glasses, spoons, knives and any other items, putting them back where they belong. Also, put books back on shelves, bury documents, and take care of pieces of paper scattered here and there.

  1. Clean all surfaces

A microfiber cloth is best for cleaning. You can also use disposable soapy cloths. Wipe down cabinets, shelves, TVs, tables, picture frames, and any areas where dust could potentially collect. Also pay attention to chair legs and the fronts of bedside tables, cupboards and dressers

  1. Are you sure all the dust is gone?

Light fixtures and curtains collect dust just as much as other items in your rooms. You can use a feather broom or a vacuum cleaner, set on the lowest power, to get rid of the dust. Also consider washing your curtains and drapes, which will further freshen up your home.

  1. Clean mirrors and windows

Smudges and grime can be especially unsightly. Clean all your windows and glass doors, and take the opportunity to take care of your mirrors as well. Also pay attention to the glass parts in your cabinets, and if you have dogs, take a look at the lower parts of glass and mirrors as well. The same goes for children, who can leave fingerprints below your sight.

  1. Vacuum the floors

When you’ve changed the sheets, shaken out the blankets and wiped down the furniture, most of the dirt is now on the floors. Vacuum or sweep the floors, and if you have enough time, mop the floor. With the right floor cleaner, your home will remain smelling nice.
