Dishes that go great with bacon

Adding bacon to your favorite dishes can elevate them to a whole new level. From breakfast favorites to dinners and sides, bacon has the power to make almost any dish extra delicious.

For breakfast, bacon is the perfect accompaniment to eggs, pancakes, waffles, and French toast. A few strips of bacon sprinkled with maple syrup will take your breakfast to a whole new level. Bacon also adds a crunchy and salty flavor to omelets and frittatas.

At lunchtime, bacon is a great addition to sandwiches and wraps. Add it to your favorite grilled cheese or BLT sandwich for an extra dose of flavor. And for dinner, bacon can add an extra layer of flavor to burgers, pasta dishes, soups, and stews. You can also use it to top salads or roasted vegetables for a tasty garnish.

How to cook bacon

Cooking bacon can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, it’s quite simple to make delicious bacon with minimal effort. Here are a few methods of cooking bacon that you can try out:

1. Stovetop: Line a large skillet with bacon strips, then heat over medium-high heat. As the bacon renders and begins to cook, you can use a spatula to flip and turn the strips so they cook evenly on both sides. Depending on the thickness of your bacon, cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until it is crispy and golden brown. Once cooked, place the bacon on a paper towel to absorb the excess grease.

2. Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the bacon strips in a single layer on the sheet, making sure not to overlap them. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.

3. Microwave: Place 4-6 slices of bacon between two paper towels on a microwave-safe plate. Heat the bacon on high for 1 minute per slice of bacon. Flip and rotate the bacon halfway through to ensure even cooking. Once cooked, move the bacon to a paper towel to absorb any excess fat.

No matter which method you use, always make sure you cook your bacon to the desired crispness before consuming it. You can also add herbs and spices or a glaze if desired before cooking for extra flavor. Enjoy!
