How to effectively organize your child’s time after school?
Family time

School time is a period of hard work, but it is also worth remembering the issue of extracurricular activities. Of course, their number and type should be individually adapted to each child.

Younger kids, as a rule, have shorter classes, and thus more time is left for them to manage after school. If we plan our time well, our little ones will be free to develop their interests, acquire knowledge, and with all this they will also find time for free play and relaxation. So how do we manage our children’s time?

Extracurricular activities – why are they so important?

In the life of our child it is important to give him various opportunities for development. This allows him to find his passion and follow it. Very important in this is the role of the parent, who is responsible for matching the hours with the school schedule, as well as his work, so that you can, for example, drive the child to individual workshops or exercises.

For younger children, it’s worth giving them the opportunity to choose and see which activities will work best for them. It is worth knowing the needs of our toddler first and only then adjust the activities to his schedule. With an older child who attends English, dance, horses, soccer and painting every year, for example, the classes can easily be set up in the right configuration. Remember, if possible, not to schedule two extra classes on one day. That way the child will not be overtired. After all, it is worthwhile for him to find the desire and time to study as well. Therefore, it is worth limiting the number of activities to 2-3 different ones during the week.

A perfectly planned week will also allow you to find a moment of respite, and every day. However, the basis is to live by the calendar. In the 21st century, time is the most important currency and it governs the lives of both adults and children, even those 2-3 years old. Now that we know what to follow when planning the week’s activities, we can focus on individual days.

A perfectly planned day

Let’s assume that we already have a few activities selected for our child, but there are also days when the toddler has a lot of free time after school. It is then worthwhile to use it for moments together. When you return home, you should give your child moments to relax after a hard day for him. Learning requires a balance between relaxation and responsibilities. Therefore, 30-40 minutes will even be advisable. It is then possible to watch a cartoon, play a game on a console or talk with parents. Then comes time for a nutritious meal, which will give your child the strength to continue. Later, plan a short walk, such as with the dog. This will preserve rest for both head and body. Then the child will be ready to be able to do homework.

If there are no additional activities on that day, you can proceed to do homework, remember that there should be silence at that time, only with quiet music in the background. This will give your child the right conditions to fully concentrate. If there are extracurricular activities on a given day, replace the walk with a scheduled activity. On the other hand, use weekends entirely for relaxation, so that you can return to student tasks with full force!
