Slime is a malleable mass designed for children to play with. You’ll find lots of recipes for making it, and you’re sure to have the ingredients at home. Know the exact proportions so that your slime is stretchy and moldable.
Youngsters used to call it slime because of its texture and sticky form, confusingly resembling slime. Making slime has become very popular among children and there is no sign that clay will stop being fun. Creating the mass is extremely easy and the resulting toy can be kneaded and stretched to an impressive length!
Depending on your vision of the mass, the slime can glow in the dark or spread the scent of your favorite oil. If your little one is just starting to learn about the world and the first reflex is to put things in the mouth, the solution will be to prepare slime from edible ingredients.
To prepare slime you need:
– baking soda,
– lens rinse solution,
– food colouring,
– glitter,
– white PVA glue,
– 2 bowls of different sizes,
– a silicone spatula,
– a spoon.
Many portals recommend taking the help of borax, or boric acid, which you will use as an activator. It is used in medicine to accelerate the healing of wounds and in domestic use for preservation. However, when it enters the body, it becomes very toxic and it is not recommended to use it for children’s toys!
If you notice that the mixture starts to thicken, knead the mass dynamically so that all the ingredients combine.
Apart from regular slime you can also make fluffy slime with shaving foam.
Ingredients needed to make fluffy slime:
Fluffy slime is prepared in the same way as classic slime, except that instead of glitter and dye you add shaving foam to the glue in the proportion you find best. The rest of the ingredients remain in the same proportions.
Slime without glue will be much less stretchy and will provide less fun by its heavier consistency. The mass resembles a pastry cream, which stains the hands. However, if your child is allergic to any of the ingredients in the glue, you can skip it!
Slime without glue:
Combine the ingredients together thoroughly and knead as you would with regular dough.
If you are afraid that your child while playing with slime will bite off a piece of the toy and poison himself, the following proposal is for you. Slime without activator and glue is a combination of only natural ingredients.
Combine 2 tablespoons of potato flour with a tablespoon of natural yogurt. You can add candy decorations to it, but keep in mind that then it will definitely lose its elasticity.
